Twitter Trending – TrendsMap: I use this to understand Globally within any country that I am targeting for what is being talked about on twitter. use your imagination here it’s not too difficult to figure out what to write about. You need to look past the Top topic for related topics.
Example a sub topic of the Japan Tsunami are surfers on the West coast.
- Are you a surfing company? Can you use that to your advantage?
- Are you an Insurance Agent? Can you write about Property Damage?
- Are you a Will & Testament Lawyer? Can you write about preserving ones legacy?
I got all of those ideas within minutes of looking at what people are talking about on that site.
Google Buzz and Yahoo Buzz: Excellent to get a quick snapshot of items that are not making mainstream media but might be related to your business or look for an angle that can relate to your business.
Google Keyword Tool: Start with the main topic in mind. example: Japan Tsunami and make sure that Locations is set to “All”. You’ll get an idea of variations of keywords that people use to search. Note: the data is not up to the minute accurate. Use this technique just to get into the minds of the searcher to see how variations of words are put together for a search. you can use these variations within your article. They also make very good keyword tags for your blog.
There you go – 4 websites that i would visit on a daily basis for no more than 10 minutes during time you set aside to write an article. This method should help you write at least 2-3 articles per week.
